Papulakani Kurdistan Centre for Life Skills

Founder and Visionary Leader
In the early 2000s, Mr. Amanj Jamal Mahmood initiated his philanthropic journey in London, establishing the "Real Kurds" organisation—a non-profit football club designed to support and unite the Kurdish community. Recognising the unique challenges faced by Kurdish youth, particularly those without family or legal immigration status, he created a safe haven where they could bond, feel a sense of family, and find refuge from their hardships.
Driven by a deep commitment to the welfare of his people, he has consistently raised funds to purchase and personally deliver critical medical supplies from the UK to Kurdistan. His contributions have alleviated the healthcare burdens of countless individuals in the region.
In addition to his medical initiatives, Mr. Mahmood has dedicated himself to enriching the lives of orphaned children in Sulaimaniya. Annually, he organises interactive activities and celebrations for orphans, ensuring that they receive not only essential supplies but also gifts that bring joy and comfort. His hands-on approach reflects his personal investment in the well-being of the most vulnerable members of society.
Moreover, as a key figure in the Kurdish diaspora, Mr. Mahmood oversees the collection of donations from British Kurds, which he personally distributes to those facing financial hardship across Greater Kurdistan. His tireless efforts have provided direct and immediate relief to families and individuals grappling with poverty.
In 2024, Mr. Mahmood expanded his charitable impact by founding the Papulakano Kurdistan Centre, a pioneering initiative dedicated to the development of children. The centre offers a structured, nurturing environment where children can engage in skill-building activities, access educational resources, and grow in a safe and supportive space designed to foster both fun and learning.
Through his unwavering dedication and visionary leadership, Mr. Mahmood continues to strengthen the bonds within the Kurdish community, ensuring that his initiatives not only meet immediate needs but also create lasting opportunities for growth, development, and unity.
